Neuschwanstein Castle

The night before we headed to Neuschwanstein Castle we stayed in a darling little pension on the border of Germany and Austria. I loved hearing the cow bells coming from outside our bedroom window but my Dad was not too happy about it, lol.

That next morning we drove and parked at a carpark just a 10 minute walk to the ticketing office. We bought our tickets a few days prior online so we got to wait only a few minutes instead of an hour or so at the office before we started the journey upwards to the castle.

To go up to the castle, you may walk uphill, take the bus (the line was very long) or opt for the horsehide  We took the carriage ride because we could get on right away and were nearing our tour time of the castle. Uphill was 6 euros (if I didn't remember wrongly) and

downhill was 3 euros, but we ended up taking the bus down.

The interior of the castle was beautiful and we enjoyed the 30 minute tour. They have a little cafe where you can get a small bite to eat. After a quick snack we headed out for a walk from the castle to the bridge. It was stunning views.
