Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there! This year my two favorite guys took me to my favorite restaurant Hotel Rosenhof. I was also gifted some beautiful flowers and got a special "Mommy and Me" photo session done by a local photographer, Reminisce Photography DM

Landstuhl Spring Festival

When we found out Landstuhl was having a small festival we jumped on the train to spend the evening eating candy and currywurst.

I think we just use any excuse for train travel these days.
Rand got to try his first cotton candy and go on a bumper car. He loved the "roller coaster" rides too.
The top right pic of Rand cracks me up...
"Go on the ride, they said. It will be fun, they said."
Rand was so funny. That night he prayed and thanked Jesus for bumper cars, roller coaster, cotton candy and train ride. He is too cute!

Mother's Day

Even though Rob had to work, the boy's made sure I had a good Mother's Day. Rob came home for a few hours so we could have lunch at my favorite restaurant Hotel Rosenhof. We have been there many times and we always try something new and are never disappointed. They change their menu monthly and we always enjoy the seasonal specialties.

enjoying a hugo... my favorite drink

I forgot to take a pic of the delicious spargel (asparagus) soup but here is my delicious main course

Landstuhl and Burg Nanstein

We are still on the hunt for a new home in Germany but we are already having fun exploring the area near us. Landstuhl is where we are staying for now and this little town is so adorable! It is full of amazing restaurants and has the best place to get ice cream... I mean spaghetti eis!

Landstuhl is also home of a castle, Burg Nanstein. We hiked up from the city center on a trail up to the castle. It was built around the year 1162. Nanstein is well known for an elaborate siege during the Knights' Revolt in 1523 which claimed the life of von Sickingen. The fall of Nanstein was a symbol for the decline of castles in the Palatinate. Now the castle ruins is a nice place to explore and enjoy a picnic while taking in the views. You can also drive up to the castle if you do not want to hike.
