Less than a 2 hour drive is the Alsace region of France. Rob & I have been meaning to go for a visit but we just haven't had a chance yet. My Mom and sister flew to Germany for a weeks visit and I thought this was a good day trip for us. Poor Rob had to work so it looks like we will just need to go again in the near future.
We parked at the "Petite France" parking garage near a modern art museum. It was about a 20 minute walk to the city center.
Cathedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg
Just outside the Cathedral is a tourist office where you can get free maps and information on things to do and see around the city. The Astronomical Clock inside the Cathedral is another must see. Be sure to go early at 10:30am to get tickets around 11 to see an hour long show of the clock.
We took a boat tour around the city and even Rand seemed to enjoy it.
